There is nothing wrong about putting yourself first. Contrary to popular belief it doesn't make you a selfish person, in fact quite the opposite as it puts you in a better position to help others, gain success and tackle challenges.
In no particular order 6 activities that promote self-care:
It's all about the quality of your sleep and not the quantity. Make sure that when your head hits the pillow it does so knowing you have done enough during the day to sleep well. Try not to sleep on an argument or ill feelings and let your inner voice know that bedtime is coming and they also need to get ready to rest.
Start the day with a Breakfast worthy of champions. Remember we are what we eat and we become what we think. I don’t know about you but when I am hungry the quality of my thoughts deteriorate. We all have a fire that burns within us and it requires fuel. Add the right fuel and the energy that is created from that fire will serve you well.
Physical exercise is a common practice with most people however brain training is not. The body and the mind need equal attention. Read a book, download a brain-training app or meditate! Be open to new practices. As they say when the student is ready the teacher appears!
That’s being kind to you. We find it easier to be kind to others and strangers than being kind to ourselves. Self-praise and acknowledgement should be part of a daily routine. We are great at acknowledging our faults so it’s about time we started to feel comfortable about acknowledging our strengths. When was the last time you gave yourself a virtual high 5 for doing something well? What you focus on you get more of. Start focusing on your strengths and accomplishments and you will start seeing more of what you really are capable of.
Laugh out loud. Since the birth of my daughter I have re learnt the power of laughter. She has taught me to laugh from the belly. It's contagious, it's free and it really is good for the soul.
Look around you, can the energy run freely around your home/office or do you have barriers? De-clutter and look for synergy. A happy environment is supportive to a happy mind.

Self-care is a necessity simply because….you’re worth it!
